Since October 2002 is established the Albanian Deposits Insurance Agency, its main target is protection and compensation of deposits in banking systems, with the final aim to contribute in stabilization of financial systems in Albania.
With the approval of Law nr. 8873 “For Deposits Insurance”, our country has created the scheme of deposits insurance.
The establishment of insurance deposits scheme has a positive effect in banking stability.

The bank’s deposits in Albania, are protected according to Law nr. 8873 “For Deposits Insurance”.

Since the approval of deposits insurance scheme in all countries of the world, the number of bankruptcy banks has been reduced and in failure cases the depositors are been protected from deposits insurance fond.
