International Week of Deposit Insurance
May 7-11 - "On principles of resolutions and receiverships" Seminar
On the framework of the Second International Week of Deposit Insurance will begin on 6 May 2007 and be held in connection with the Fifth Anniversary of the IADI, on May 7-11, 2007 FSVC, USAID and FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, USA) in co-operation with Bank of Albania and Albanian Deposit Insurance Agency with the financial support of FSVC project, organized in Tirana a seminar "On principles of resolutions and receiverships".
The seminar aimed at offering an opportunity for discussing and sharing experience on challenges and solutions to be considered during the resolution and receivership processes of failed banks, and also gaining experience from experts of Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation towards managing these processes, which directly effect the stability of the financial system.
The seminar was attended by an audience with representatives from Bank of Albania, Deposit Insurance Agency and also supervisory authorities from some regional countries.
The opening remarks were presented by Bank of Albania’s Governer, Mr. Ardian Fullani, while the speakers invited were FDIC experts, namely Mr. Ken Blincow and Mrs.Sherry Chen. Upon the conclusion of the seminar, certificates were issued to participants.
