International Association  of Deposit Insurers,   7th Annual Conference & Annual General Meeting, October  2008 

The 2008 IADI Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting was hosted by FDIC in Washington D.C, USA. The theme for this year’s conference was: “The role of deposit insurance in promoting financial stability and economic inclusion”.
The Conference brought together deposit insurance industry practitioners from across the globe and leading experts in financial services. They discussed and shared experiences among each other, views and country lessons on the following issues:

• Current Financial Market Challenges and Implications for Financial Institutions
• The Role of Deposit Insurers in Financial Crises, Past and Present
• IADI Core Principles and New Research and Guidance for Deposit Insurers
• A Global Perspective on Economic Inclusion
• Measuring Economic Inclusion
• Innovative Ways of Promoting Economic Inclusion
• Role of Deposit Insurance in Promoting Economic Inclusion

Part of the Conference was the International IADI Booth Exhibition, where IADI Members, Associates, Observers and Partners, along with other approved organizations, had the opportunity to enhance awareness about their organization by sharing information (brochures, DVDs, etc.) at an individual booth kiosk.
